Upgraded pinion seal is made from a upgraded material specially designed to last in high heat environments, this is common when running driveline/ pinion brakes on 5 Ton axles, these seals are rated to operate at 600F for extended periods of time unlike typical rubber seals that will breakdown and fail quickly in high heat environments
