Kit includes:
- 24x 3/8" x 1" Grade 8 Low Profile Socket Head Bolts
A unique feature of the 2.5 ton military top load axle is the ability to "flip the hubs" meaning you can switch the hub offset to either narrow the trackwidth of you axle or widen it
2.5 ton steer axles come factory with the hubs flipped out for a wider track width 79.5" flipping the hubs in will narrow the track width to 69.25" measured to the wheel mounting surface
When flipping the hubs on a 2.5 ton steer axle the back side of the wheel stud comes very close to the spindle mounting hardware. There isnt enough clearance to run the factory studs or even a hex head bolt
These low profile studs will give you the most clearance possible when the hubs are flipped
The spindle hardware provided in this kit has a 140,000LB tensile strength rating
The kit comes with 24 spindle mounting bolts and instructions
*Important Notes:
- This kit is not required on rear 2.5 ton axles only steer axles
- The factory drum brake cannot be used on a steer axle with the hubs flipped in however, the factory drum brakes can be used on rear axles with the hubs in either configuration
- This kit does require some clearancing of the back side of the factory wheel studs. Typically 1/8" of material needs to be removed, because of this the kit is to only be sold and used for offroad use
